I remember moving back to my home state from Atlanta and being quite surprised to find that the role I’d transferred in was no longer an option. I’d come home to spend time with an ailing parent and was distraught at the harsh reality that my neither my youthful decisions nor my youthful income had prepared me for THIS spot in life.
While others slept, I sat in the dark silently crying on a friend’s couch, hot tears burning my throat. I remember saying: “God, as surprised as I am, I know you are not. Help me.”
My answer didn’t come that night but peace did. I didn’t get a miracle job offer or a generous donation in my mailbox. What I received was a clear piece of instruction while riding my bicycle to work about four days later; Master Language.
Yep, me on my bike, sweatshirt over my Chili’s polo, approximately $18 in my pocket, and a bank account in overdraft. The instruction didn’t come with a HOW or a WHY or even a blue print, just simply “Master Language.”
Fast forward to now. Following through on that ONE piece of instruction has enlarged my audience from co-workers and companions on the bus stop bench to CEOs, CNOs, entrepreneurs, WOSBs, at-risk youth, and healthcare professionals nationwide. It has allowed me the purchase of shelter, vehicles, the time freedom to give back via mentoring youth to providing funds for scholarship programs and single parent mailbox blessings (SPMB’s) for those struggling with healthcare challenges such as cancer, etc.
Think about it; that is just MY reach. And my immediate reach at that. What could it do for you? What could it do for your reach? Your present, future, and extended reach? Language Command can change your influence, your impact, and your income. It can change your life and the life of your hearers.
Had I waited until I could see the HOW and WHY, I would have been under-prepared. The answer/help/future I was asking for was in the instruction. Master Language.
As it relates to Language Mastery, I’ve worked with individuals from healthcare to non-profits and automotive to professional sports industries. Successfully. Because I intentionally keep it about those I work with- about their present, their future and their extended reach.
I was inspired to write this impromptu piece of transparency while listening to Sam Cooke after Knowledge or Nonsense this morning. Oh, did I mention mastering language has also allowed me to become a ‘visibility agent’ for panelists, speakers, brands, and industry and community hot topics?
Our reach was never designed to just hug ourselves. It is designed to touch others. I only work with so many at one time and slots are limited. Are you one of the people open to growing your reach?
